Creating Your Floor

If you decide to design your own pattern, remember that Premium Block Parquetry is a "modular" product in that four widths equals one length making anything you can draw on paper a possibility!

  • Premium Block Parquetry is graded in accordance with the Australian Standard AS2796.  This standard provides criteria by which material is graded into either Select (Light Feature) Grade or Natural (Modern Feature) Grade.  

  • Select Grade parquetry will create a floor with a clean, more formal look, containing lower levels of natural feature.  

  • Natural Grade contains a higher level of natural features like gum veins and knots. Natural Grade will produce a floor with rustic charm, perfect for coutnry or cottage interiors.

  • The amount and type of natural feature included in your Premium Parquetry floor will also vary according to the specie selected.

  • Part of the charm of natural hardwood flooring is that every piece of timber is uniquely different. When selecting your new Premium Block Parquetry floor you should remember that colour and grain variation will vary according to the timber species you select.
