David Aikins

DJA Company Pty Ltd trading as Flooring Concepts in Melbourne Australia, commenced the timber flooring business in June 1994. The business is owned and directed by David Aikins. When David started the timber floors' business he brought with him 11 years experience in timber flooring, specialising in Parquet Flooring. David started in the flooring industry 1983 working on all types of timber floors from large commercial to small domestic.

David has a long history with the Wood Flooring Association - WFA (previously known as The Victorian Floor Laying and Finishing Association – VFLFA). In 1992 David was one of the 4 original members to set up a state body for the timber flooring industry. In 1994 he became Treasurer, Vice President in 1996 and President in 2003. In 2003 the Association changed its name to a national body now called the Wood Flooring Association (WFA).

Currently David is on the committee writing the Australian Standards for Standards Australia.
